Synopsis

A man lives isolated on an island. His only companion is a young woman with whom he has made an unnatural agreement: she pretends to be his deceased wife. What happens when the pledge is broken?

Director's short bio

Christos Gkotsis was born in 1984 in Aegina, Greece. He studied Naval Architecture in Athens. His first short film "Lunch Break" was selected for the Cannes Short Film Corner (2013). "Pledge" is his second short film. It premiered at the 37th Drama Short Film Festival and was selected for the Cannes Short Film Corner (2015). He lives in Aegina with his family, preparing his next short "Ouzo-Flavored Candy" and writing his first feature "Sound of Wheel".
