Synopsis

In any country, during any war, completely isolated in a family house that is now trapped by the snow,Mother and Daughter, teacher and a student, are struggling to survive extreme living conditions having the piano on which they play continuously as their sole companion. But the inevitable moment has come in which the much loved instrument will have to be sacrificed in order for mother and daughter to survive in the brutal living conditions. The act of chopping the piano for fire wood has become a personal drama for the Mother(a musician, pianist)who has entwined her whole being into the instrument.

Director's statement

To be able to build up the courage, set free, sacrifice what we cherish the most,is to be able to continue life with love in our hearts, and ,also, that music can stay alive within us,despite everything. The story of my film also poses a question of our heritage.Do we inherit from our parents what is called a talent, whatever that talent might be,or is the crucial component, love and passion,in this case for music, that our parents pass on us as their”s passed on to them.
