Awards 2014

 

We are very proud of the fact that altcineAction! Awards are of a highly educational and career-evolving nature.
With Prizes totaling over than 50.000 Euros in production grants and services rewarding the top three films, professional software and college tuition altcineAction! Online Short Film Festival for Balkan Filmmakers’ 3rd edition will once again seek and find the best of the next generation of Balkan directors!

Grand Awards

As always, the first three prizes are based on audience voting and they offer services for winners’ next production. More precisely:

 

Albania Film Commission offers shooting (camera & lenses), post-production, accommodation for a small group of a short film or documentary.

 

Authorwave (Greece) offers 8.000 Euros in shooting and post-production services.

Full shooting package for 5 days, 16 hours of Color Correction with a colorist artist, the making of opening and end titles, 4Κ DCP mastering (with English or Greek subtitles).

 

DNA (Greece) will offer five days of sound post-production and final mix

 

Arctos (Greece) offers a full shooting package (HD Camera Black Magic 4K + Lenses set) and a lighting set.

 

Melancholy Star (based in London, UK) offers five days of Story Boarding or Visual effects.

 

Juries Awards

 

Best Photography Award, courtesy of MC Manios  who will offer a $1000 USD gift certificate to be redeemed directly through Zacuto.

We are very proud to announce that this year’s Jury members are: the acclaimed DoP of Theo Aggelopoulos’ films and administrator of French Association of Directors of Photography,  Giorgos Arvanitis, and the President of Serbian Society of Cinematographers and multi-awarded Predrag Bambic
Best Editing Award
The Best Editor will be awarded with the Avid Media Composer 7 and Pro Tools 11 software, courtesy of Avid/Telmaco S.A

Members of the jury: Girgos Mavropsaridis (Greece), Aleksandra Milovanovic (Serbia), Dimitris Athanitis (Greece).

 

Alida Dimitriou Award– altcine team’s choice
In memory of the great woman, Alida Dimitriou, who was committed to short films and social issues.

The prize includes the whole post-production process, for winner’s next film, provided by the company 2|35 and Costas Varibopiotis’ sound studio.

 

And of course, our unique Best Critic Award for the more engaged and faithful member of the audience, which offers all the expenses for winner’s participation at a Balkan Film Festival.

The jury of The Best Critic Award is composed of President Mr Marian Tutui (Romania), Ms Gergana Doncheva (Bulgaria), Ms Ana Grgic (Croatia) and Ms Lydia Papadimitriou (UK/Greece).

 

For the Greek contestants (or Greek speaking people) the festival has few more prizes:

To the First Greek winner, AMC Metropolitan College offers Full-Tuition for a three-year Bachelor’s degree in filmmaking (BA Film & TV Directing) at their campus in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece. This prize does not include the royalty fees (1300euros). AMC also offers registration and one years’ tuition in the BA Film & TV Directing program to the second and third Greek winner. This prize is not eligible for current AMC students.

 

 

Additionally, this year, the Greek Film Center offers to the First Greek winner the possibility to apply for the Scriptwriting Grand and enter to the short-list without other evaluation.
